NGC 2683
The spectral investigations by Karachentsev et al. determined a radial velocity of 380 +/- 25 km/s for this object. Due tue the fact that the radial velocity of NGC 2683 is mentioned with about 411 +/- 4 km/s, the dwarf is now confirmed as NGC 2683 dw1. Low surface
brightness of the second (dSph) dwarf galaxy
makes its radial velocity measurement quite difficult. Follow-up investigations on N2683dw2 are ongoing.
(Have also a look into the publication “New radial velocities for dwarf galaxies in the Local Volume, Karachentsev et al, 2015)
