NGC 2683

In this image of NGC 2683 which was published on 2014-06-16 by M. Elvov, P. Riepe found an unknown object on 2014-09-19 only 12 arcmin southeast from the center of NGC 2683 (see red marks). The total exposure time was 15 hours.

On 2014-09-20 the TBG team got the notice from Prof. Dr. Karachentsev that NGC 2683se (= TBG internal preliminary designation) is just known by him. The scientific publication for this object will be done after determination of the radial velocity and spectra in the coming winter spring time 2014/15. The coordinates of this object are:

RA = 08 h 53 min 26.8 s , Dec = +33 ° 18 ‘ 20 “.
